Don't sell yourself short... notice the ISA certification, no you don't need that either, but.... you want it? You'll need to understand basic biology, physics, and chemistry.

Trees are living objects, not something we just work around. They require thought and planning when working with, to plant, preserve and even remove. To be truly good at this job you need to have a basic understanding of their systems. You can be in this industry (notice I didn’t say profession) and be unskilled. But if you want to do more then drag brush.

I don't think we can convince you to go back to school, but perhaps we can relate experiences, thoughts and best wishes.

I will not spend much further effort trying to make you "see the light" but "read" is spelt with an 'a' and 'encite' is 'insight'
We all make typo's here, but the general knowledge, and a command of the language will take you a long way in a business were you MUST deal with clients

dude, the isa exam is only one feather in the cap in the world of pro arboriculture and it is not the hardest to achieve. there are many more tests to take. and you will need to put the bong down to pass the CDL which will get you a job in most companies faster than being ISA certified. education makes for a great arborist just as much as experience.

think of this too, you came to this website looking for advice, commradery, and peer input just as we all did and now look how many of us our trying our best to give you that sound advice to the best of our ability. rethink it man.

there are now three threads current on this site suggesting you go back to school. thats how much we care man.

You gattabe kidding

Why in the world would any body quit school ?Does history teach us nothing. In the 60's,it was cool to quite school, not. Some of my freinds, while now somewhat successful, struggled, for a long time,to get there.Get an education, learn something.I'm 56,and I still have schooling, from time to time.If you want to work in the trees, fine, but Do it with HS education, savvy . Be cool, stay in school:cool:
