The photo was of the standard tree climbing method I saw used in Russia last summer. It was very similar to what is used to climb flagpoles. No spurs were used, even on takedowns. The foot loops replaced that. You will notice that both lanyards, top and foot are attached to the saddle in case one would fail. The trees they were climbing were mostly Norway spruce with down sloping branches or white birch with tight crotches. It made it hard to set a line high and use either SRT or DdRT to enter the tree. The top lanyard was often long so that they could work off of it doing limb walks or other such things. You can find more pictures of them at work at www.udal.ru . I will try to get his address for you, but you might find it at the above website.
Hi by all
At us the season of work began. A lot of job. Unfortunately there is no time for dialogue in a forum.
In a photo our standard system of an ascention on trees. Not so quickly (90 ft - 10 minutes), but are safe, and it is convenient in any situations. Especially conveniently at pruning. The rigid saddle two loops is applied. Frequently we use SRT.
