I use the Weaver 3 Dee, and like it. The suspenders are an added bonus when donning the saddle as it frees your hands. It has plenty of accessory snaps, loops and rings that will hold 35 lbs. ea. , plenty for the heaviest saw and various accessories we drag up those trees. Most importantly, security and comfort are excellent. My vote....Weaver.(for now)

I just placed my order, here is what I got

The big Shot w/ 4' poles
2 180' 1.75mm Zing It
Line Tamer
New 8oz bag
Old 10 & 12oz bags
and a Large Glide.

It will be here tommorow and I will let yall know about all of it.

I've been climbing with a ness for about 3 years and have been very happy with the saddle for the most part. It is comfy, but that delta just kind of bugs me. Like Tom said about the D in front below the delta, it does lower your COG and makes me feel a bit unstable, but no way are you going to slip out of the saddle. The delta link gets kind of tight when I have my climbing line and lanyard both on the center (4 biners). If I were to get another Ness I think I'd go with the smoke jumper, looks like a great design. My ness has the older style leg pads, Which are not bad, but I bet the newer pads that come around the inside of the thigh are much better.
I've got a Glide on my christmas list --hope I've been a good boy. Until the Glide came out I was determined to get a butterfly, but I really like the looks of the Glide.
-still a ness fan, just ready to try somthing new.

In using the Ness Work Saddle, the balance point definitely changes depending on whether you are clipped to the delta link or the small D. My experience in training climbers has been that body type makes a big difference in which is most comfortable to an individual. Big upper body types want to go with the delta location, some light-weights or big butt types like the D. Personally, I SRT clipped to the delta and rappel on the D. For DdRT I go with the delta location. The small D does not move back and forth much at all. This saddle is like sitting in a big hammock chair for comfort...great support and nothing gets squashed ;) .

Cricket called me back and said that Sherill doesn't have any glides yet, Buckingham is still finishing them.  She said they sould get them in by the end of the week. I will get everything else tommorrow and the glide I should get Fri- Sat

Burnam, I appreciate your logical analysis about attachment preferences on the Ness. I'm not logical though. I'm big (235 lbs), no butt to speak of but broad shouldered and chested. I don't fit your well reasoned guidelines because I like to clip to the D. :D Actually I think that I probably should have special ordered a larger waist belt. If I clip to the Delta it tends to dig into my belly (yeah, I've got one) The side Ds are a little far back on my hips for ease of clipping the lanyard in and out. Even so it is by far the most comfortable saddle I've ever worked in. My next saddle will likely be nother Ness-but ordered in a size that puts my waist size in the middle of the range instead of on the outside edge of what is recommended.

Greg, you can, as New Tribe describes in their catalog, go with a large pear-shaped screwlink instead of the delta...they sell a beautiful stainless steel one. That will give you more room for multi clip-ins. Also gives a bit more room for slipping into/out of the saddle without taking the screwlink off if you are at the upper edge of the size range you purchased. You might also try linking the D and the screwlink with a short rope bridge to give more space to clip in, sort of like the Butterfly, except vertical vs. horizontal in orientation.

Stumper, the last suggestion might work for you and that belly :D. Seriously, is your preference of clip point due to balance point or belly intrusion? If the former, logical analysis :p suggests to me that you have sufficiently developed abs to counter the layback your upper body places on the saddle, and that you prefer a more sit-like position on the rope. If the latter, then my earlier observations may still hold true...and you might be thinking about a diet, huh ;) ?

Well Mike, I do need to lose about 20-25lbs. Genetic make up from the paternal side of my family-any and all fat accumulates at the belly.

Burnham, Really both issues. I don't like getting my roll pinched and I do prefer a sitting position in the saddle. I probably ought to try clipping in the delta again-I only did it once. When I clipped into the D it seemed comfortable so I stuck with it. Technically the Ness is a stronger saddle when you clip to the Delta since the Ds rate less than 5000 lbs individually (I'm told).

Stumper, from the way I read New Tribe's materials the standard small side Ds are 2500 lbs. but the center D is 7500 lbs. The large side Ds that you can get on a custom built Ness, as I did, don't have a strength listed in the catalog, but it is possible they are stronger than the standard side D. I might give Sophia Sparks a call and ask. If I get around to it I'll post what she has to say.

In any event, I'm pretty confident the center D is 50 % over the 5000 lb. limit, so is completely satisfactory as a single clip-in point...even if you do need to lose a few pounds :p...I could stand to drop 10 or 12 myself  .

Thanks Burnham. That makes perfect sense-the center D IS heavier/thicker steel that the side Ds.

Every rated large D that I've seen tested safe at 5000 pounds.-Sounds like you can have another piece of pie.:D

I tried to order the Pro Versitale with leg straps and a grommet buckle. I thought that they had that, but it turned out that they didn't have any grommet belts in stock. So, I was like crap! what do I get. I asked Cricket if the Smokejumper was any good and she said it was, then she said something that sounded like nos. I asked if the said Ness and she said they have 9 in stock. I will be getting the Ness tommorrow hopefully, and I will get a glide in coupla of weeks.

Because I need a more comfortable saddle than the one I posted by saturday, I ordered a Pro Versitle with the grommet belt. It will be here tommorrow. I still will get the glide also.

They don't have a grommet belt!! I talked to cricket and she said that they do carry nesses. So I ordered a Ness and it should be here tommorrow. I am starting to think that I am suppose to stay with my OSHA approved saddle that hurt till my back goes numb.

I think L J got bigger things on his mind .

Sounds like he might trying to put together a climbing crew with those extra saddles he is ordering. He will be the lead climber with his long awaited Glide, the other guys will be getting seconds and thirds with the other gear.

Right now I have 1 saddle on the way (ness0 and the glide on hold whenever they get them in. I didn't get the large D's because Sherril only has 1 size D's. I cancelled the back order on the Pro Versitle because that's not what I wanted anyway.

The Ness will be here tommorrow. Sherrill had 9 of them in so I hope I can get one of them.

Had an easy takedown today. 2 Small oaks 14" & 16" DMB, cleanup and stumps total 250 took an hour. I used the bigshot on one to set the rope and pull it over. I charged extra because I thought that I would have to take 2 trips, but it turned out that one of my friends fathers wanted the wood for firewood.

I may get another saddle to send one of my groundies to come up there with me, so they can maintain a respect if ever they get a big head.
