White pine are dying (pics inside)

Hello everyone. I'm a long time lurker on this site and am finally joining the community.
I transplanted some white pine in June of last year, they were all 3-5 feet tall and were transplanted about a quarter mile. I'm having issues with a lot of them dying off and turning yellow. I have transplanted red pine in the same row that are doing really well. They are all on the bottom row near the fence and I guess you could say they're in a ditch. It's hard to know if its overwatering, underwatering, lack of nutritents or pests. I have pictures attached and maybe you guys could give me some advice on what to do or what i did wrong, the taller trees are all red pine and are doing great.

Red's are more drought tolerant than White's. They are also more forgiving if planted too deep.

White pine really don't like to be planted, let alone planted in the open. They naturally regenerate in partial shade. The red is likely scorching from the heat or desciccation in the winter.
