Looking for current users or past experience climbing on these? Pros Cons? Dont know why it's taken me this long to consider using one, although they are expensive and we are getting older, so im considering. Any comments would be helpful before I bite the bullet!

If you're going to run a mech hitch that one is a safe bet. Not a easy to inspect for wear as cordage but a much better buy than that petzl garbage.

Take your pick. A ride in a Pinto or a ride in a Volvo. One has killed a few people from poor engineering. The other is tried and true.
I've tried the zigzag. It's smooth, but you're gonna have to wipe my goo off your reading glasses to inspect it you old queen.

I came back on here and saw 9 posts, I was excited and like right on cool, but then reading all your bickering rubbish geeeezzzz!! guys ! Come one talk to me about this Spiderjack and the Lockjack sport swivel, these are almost $400 bucks each, looking to get some responses from experience in climbing on these not baby wipes and vaginal secretions goo stuff! LOL only here on the tree sites I guess! but Im still ******* laughing!!

just get up the damn tree and cut the limbs off. get some/any set up that allows slack tending. If you are just going up on a wraptor or crane for a cut or two....leave the tricky stuff (not sticky stuff like goo man) in the pick up bed and go primitive.

I saw some dude demonstrating the rope wrench with vt (srt) out in the yard at the arborist supply house the other day. Looked kind of interesting. If I was going for cutting edge arbor nerd, that's probably something I'd look into before spending $400 on a lock jack thingy, or the other zig zag deal (even though I like the name).

Without bringing up goo or whatever, if you live within driving distance of North Attleboro Mass you should call up Shelter Tree. They have both in stock I believe and you can bring your harness in and try them out on a line they have set up in the warehouse. Great people to deal with too.

I use the lock jack, been using it for awhile now. You must use a nice climbing line. I use the lava line it worked well at first. Then it seemed to be not as smooth. It just might have been the crouch of the tree. Now I use it with a friction saver seems to do well. Take into note I don't climb very much. Unless it's a hard to get to tree or a wide spread live oak that the customer wants to thin. I have lots of other things to do. My opinion spend the $38? It works well but get the hang of it low off the ground. You don't want to be 80 pluse when your trying it. You might bust your a!! I like it cause it tends it's own slack very helpful during rope climbs.
