Well let me put the facts out there I bought the Solo Twin and yes i paid him in cash the seller met me half way i live in Boones Mill Va he lives next to South Hill Va and we met in appomatox Va very nice guy to deal with and the saw was just like he described. As far as what the saw is worth to me its worth every penny i spent to get it with 10 seconds left i put in a bid for 2000.00 to be 99% sure i got it i collect a few saws and thats one i have been looking for for a long time i dont mind paying for something i want and i don't mind paying a fair price to where its a good deal for me and a good deal for the saler i don't like fealing like i was cheated and i don't want some one to feal like i cheated them. I even bought a 242xp from a member here that was really nice he had what i wanted so i offered him 600.00 and he was hesitant but i explained i wanted for my collection and i wanted to pay him what i thought would be fair due to the fact they are hard to come by as nice as his was so he sold me the saw and it sits on my shelf of saws. As for the solo yes it runs like a top i disasmbled it and cleaned the points the muffler out pulled the cylinders off and check the crank bearings and every thing looked good then the carb and put it partialy back together primed the carb and pulled it twice and fired right up. so then i took it back apart so i can paint it then put it back together and make it look like new and NO IT WANT BE FOR SALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good to see it went to someone who "really" wanted it and not to someone hoping to turn a profit. I am not to far from you, I am right outside Rocky Mount in Glade Hill. I used to work for the Stop In store in Burnt Chimney and the manager lived in Boones Mill.

Being nosey is one thing. People are going to be nosey, it's just in our nature. But throwing around accusations without evidence of any wrong doing is BS.

When it comes down to it, it's really no ones business.

I agree about the accusations, I got ripped up by some nitwit the other day myself! Pure BS

I'm most happy to hear of a deal going down between 2 upstanding people where both the buyer and seller were more then happy with the deal!

Seems we don't hear enough of those types of stories now days.

I probably would have met in Brookneal, but it certainly lacks the historical significance of Appomattox.

well we met there cause i had a truck to pick in lynchburg on the way back and he was trying to find some old stihl saw shop around appomatox Later Troy

If you don't mind taking some photos when you have it down, I for one would like to see the guts.

I'll tell people what I paid for a saw but if its sold privately I'll refer to the selling price as crazy money. Keeps people guessing.

Congrats on the saw. Looking forward to the after pictures myself. What are you going to do to that welded area?
