I have been keeping the 440 inside since I bought it. I have other valuables in the locked garage but want my baby in the house. My question is what to do about the smell? I don't mind it but others do. I have found that a good cleaning keeps the fumes down a little but stihl there...

Put the saw in a Rubbermaid box?

What do you do about the smell?

I say ELIMINATE anyone whom cannot enjoy and appreciate  the aroma of well mixed gas!:hmm3grin2orange:

Though a rubbermaid container is a good idea for non believers.

LOL, someone rep this guy for me. I have given out too much in 24 hours:cry:

I have both the 395 and 3120 in the house. For security, but also it's just better on them to be in a climate controlled enviroment. Ever see what happens when, after a cool night, the air temperature rises faster than the metal of the engine? This raised all kinds of corrossion problems when I was building my plane. I'd bring the 028 in too, but I have it down at work.

Good point, the echo usually stays in the garage. Once the 044 is no longer a POW, it will be in the house. For now the bg85 and 440 stay inside.

My garage is attached, so the temp stays fairly stable. I may have to look into the rubbermaid thing myself for transporting saws, especially if I can get it to be non-stinkified. My wife is not too keen on the smell of 2 stroke in the morning. Or afternoon. Or evening. Or at night.

:ices_rofl: Saws in the house? Not hardly. Also no dogs, cats, chickens, mice, goats, calves, bummer lambs or things that slither or hide under couches. Wife decrees no chainsaws in the house. Wife cooks...among other attributes. Easy choice.
