WAG, Lombard maybe.

Went for more than twice I would have bid if shipping was available.

I was considering bidding, but as expected some folks pushed the price out of my range.

Carl, the seller listed $50.00 shipping in the description.

I found some Lombard saws with similar mufflers, but that might have more to do with who made the engine (AH?) than who assembled the saw. The dovetail design of the AF cover reminds me of some saws coming out of Canada, PM/Power Machinery.

I'd really like to get a hold of documentation showing who made what for MW. Such lists exist for Sears/Craftsman, but I've never one for Montgomery Ward.

I'm bumping this back to page one.

Someone here has at least some info on the Montgomery Ward chainsaws. Most? some? of the Remington and McCulloch models are fairly easily IDd.

The early Lombards used the Power Products engines. AH47 and such.

Later 'lay down' are of their own design.

Chainsawcollector.se(?) has an extensive saw library.

I'm a member at Mangus' site, but haven't visited in several years.

The muffler cover on the Wards saw I asked about is identical to those on a couple of Lombard models, which makes me pretty sure the Ward saw engine is PP/AHxx.
