Chevrolet makes the best American Cars and trucks around anymore. Fords are slow turtles, Mopar cant run more than 50,000 miles without losing a valvetrain. I Own a 2002 Chevy Silverado with the 5.3 Vortec, and I love stomping the fords and mopars on the highway.

And beside, ITS A TRUCK MAN...... Most every S%!t box they make now can pass you on the highway, all you proved is that you have a lead foot. My wifes kid haulin grocery gettin station wagon is faster than any truck I ever owned.

Thread starts out about crappy chainsaws and ends up about you guys racing trucks. I thought trucks were for dirty work, hauling wood and rocks and fertilizer, not for racing?

I could be wrong but I doubt it.

I guess if you have a fast truck you can make quicker runs to the parts store to fix your crappy saw.:yoyo:

Most of the yuppie truck owners now days wont even haul anything in their truck beds. :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange: Just a waste of space so they can look cool, hauling their new shiny chainsaw in its new case in the front floor board. :hmm3grin2orange:

Sounds like my father in law! Has to have towels and blankets when you put anything into the bed of his truck. I just throw rocks and whatever in mine, drag stuff across it. I bought it for a reason and that wasnt to have it look pretty.

People are funny though.

Getting back to the original post. I've only owned Stihl and Hushy and have never had any problems with either. I can't comment on other brands.

Crap, I get passed by everything on the highway. If I wanted to race I would have got a Mustang GT. To say that you beat other vehicles in a race with your truck is stupid. Did the drivers you "beat" know they were racing?

First of all, some take things too literally. I enjoy the performance part of anything with an engine, including my truck. If you think its stupid that I like truck racing, opinions are like you know what, everyone has one. I screwed up by stating that I race on public highways, I do not. i use my truck for everything , including a pass on the quarter mile. I suppose you think chainsaw racing is stupid as well? I have owned all three "American" makes of truck, and I stated MY opinion on that. You dont like it, too bad. On the bright side, its cool to see this forum has a pulse.

I hear ya. But racing a truck is like racing a Honda Civic. Sure it can be done, but that vehicle was never intended to race. It is true though that some will race anything with an engine. To each his own!

Back on subject!

I made a post about Troy built saws.
Well I was talking to the local Canadian tire hardware dept manager and this guy does know his stuff compared to most!He was telling me they had a recall on of of them for breaking handles and that was the reason, plus someone is suing Troy built because the handle broke. He even said that a Wildthing was twice the saw! go figure and yes they were made in China!
They made them look like a Jred red and black it is a bit scary some of the junk that is coming out of there! But with allot of manufactures setting up shop there what does the future hold?

I actually have a friend that runs 9 second quarter mile times in a civic.

I knew someone was gonna go there. Ok, how much did he spend to get the car to a 9 sec 1/4 mile and how much of the car is still Honda? Is he still running the 4 cyl?

He really didnt spend too much, I think he said under $10-$12k for everything including the car. It is still a Honda 4 cyl., still a daily driver, just adds tires for the track.
He built the engine and he is a very good at tuning ALL types of cars.

BTW - he runs these times at an elevation of 4500'

Here is a run he made last year before he went into the nines http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...l=3&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0
