Ive got a rear handle Craftsman I belive it is a 1988/89 era saw and was told it was made by Poulan in that time frame,,,,,,

Be sure to check the fuel line that runs from the tank and through the handle to the carburetor. I've had to replace it on many Poulan saws of that style because the line gets very brittle and breaks.

Done that been there!

I looked in the tank one day to see the filter floating around.
Figured I would get a new filter and viola!
Nope, The dang line was cracked.
Took all the line out and put on a new filter.
Didnt know where to get a carb kit so I just got it all clean.
It runs well, just wont idle sometimes.
I forgot to write down the model number, but I'm sure it is the poolan 2000.
Will my stihl dealer be able to get a carb kit for it?
I have never actuall bought any parts for my saws, other than plugs and the fuel line/filter.
thanks
Doug

Doug , a relative of mine has a 2000 that wont idle , the reed valve under the carb has slight wrinkle or kink . It's worth looking .

go to www.sears.com on the left side is a parts link, put in the model number it will tell you any parts that are available through sears. might be a little pricey, but it is the easiest way to find parts and part numbers for a craftsman.
