I'm not advocating this avenue, but there are a lot of air rifles that would be adequate for the job. On the cheap end, I'd look at a 22 cal Crossman CO2 rifle, but you'll be limited to about 10 yards. On the other end, there are a number of very nice 22 cal PCP air rifles that would work.

I doubt you will find a Crossman CO2 rifle that will do much more than piss off a turkey. A PCP is an entirely different gun but even the 22 cals I have seen too out at around 1000 fps. Of course there are larger bores that folks use on large game but grab your wallet.

The Crossman 22cal CO2 rifles that I'm familiar with can be modified with a different spring that will significantly increase their capabilities, but you would still need to make a head shot which will likely limit the effective range to about 30ft. The PCP rifles are a different animal all together, but yeah, hold on to your wallet. Definitely not your grandpa's bb gun....
