This is something that will not happen overnight.
It's probably going to take a minimum of 6-10 years to grow the brand at the national level.

Here are some of the goals that Dolmar has made so far

4- Has stopped the Makita brand chainsaws (Except for the DCS-6400, DCS-34, & the soon to be discontinued DCS-540) So Dolmar dosen't have to worry about being in competition with their own product in different colors.

Good idea, separate dolmar from the one stable thing it had going for it, Makita parts and service.
Having and using many fine Makita tools, I know I can count on Makita USA for parts and service. One phone call, and they drop ship them to my door the next day or two. They are so good, I almost considered Dolmar.
Thank you for letting me know Dolmar's next move is to reduce customer support.
Yeah, that'll help, good move.
Maybe you can get them into the box stores too...:bang:

Nothing really Manual! They just decided they didn't want this market from what I understand, they seem to me to have always had a quality product, and really push the technilogical envelope. Like I say, seems like great product, just hope they stand behind it this time!

Here are some of the goals that Dolmar has made so far

1- Newly designed competitive chain saws in the 45-50cc & 70-80cc range

2- Competitive cut off saws in the 12", 14", & 16" range. Dolmar is building about 1/3 of all cut-off saws sold in the world. Their competition in the category is Partner & Stihl, Husqvarna dosen't really even count in this category.

3- Full distribution in the US & Canada with healthy parts & wholegoods stock. All with delivery available to dealers the next day.

4- Has stopped the Makita brand chainsaws (Except for the DCS-6400, DCS-34, & the soon to be discontinued DCS-540) So Dolmar dosen't have to worry about being in competition with their own product in different colors.

5- Dolmar has been doing more advertising at the dealer levels.

Here is what Dolmar is working on to help further grow market share in the US & Canada.

1- More new products to be released in the next few years. With new saws in the 30-40cc & 90cc range, a better selection of leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, string trimmers, and other hand held equipment.

2- More advertising & other marketing at the consumer levels when the dealer base gets stronger.

3- Expanding their factory in Hamburg Germany to be able to keep up with growing sales around the world.

Steve

Any idea or rumors about the 90cc saw? Will it be a hotrod like the 5100 and 7900 are in their classes? Any idea when it may come out? I'm thinking of getting a 660 but would be willing to wait if a new hot 90cc dolmar is coming out next year.

There is no rule about shipping parts. I ship parts everyday for a lot of our equipment.

A new 90cc saw from Dolmar is going to be a while. I would not expect anything in the next 3 years or so.

Look at the poll results if you want entertainment.
Yes, I'm just an ignorant consumer of saws. What need is there to entice me?

Sending it's dealers to a commercial saw user site, to insult them, doesn't seem like Dolmar's best idea yet. But hey, I'm just a potential customer...NOT!

I was thinking the same thing but didn't say it:)

Must have used a STIHL to cut the slots so you would be able to stand the saws in the log.:rockn:  :buttkick:

It's pretty bad when Echo outsells Dolmar in saw sales.:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

If you have enough Stihls your bound to get one to light and run

Whooooa.........There is one thing you cannot dispute...Stihl builds a great chainsaw. They are not #1 just because everyone can pronounce their name. Dolmar has good product, they just dont exist in large market areas. They have a long road, no dought, we will see.

Thought you might want to see what a real dealership looked like.
Everything is always bigger in Texas.
And by the way there are a lot more in the back.

You've had good luck with Makita. But not everyone has.

At least when Makita, USA was in Texas and handling Dolmar, they managed to torque off a lot of dealers in my region.
