this is getting silly... If you ever was a real dealer you would of had plenty of air filters in stock... We carry a minimum of 20 at all times.. Maybe thats WHY you was canceled you did not stock enough parts to service what you even used yourself not to mention the dozen or so saws you sold local. :sucks:

Hey.....lighten up Scott!!!!! Tony sold me one of his last filters for my Dolmar a couple weeks ago. BTW, I've PM and emailed you and 166 and Marco wanting to buy Dolmar stuff and only spike60 replied with a "no thanks" to mail order. So where exactly do I get parts for my Dolmars if you big guys don't help?

I have never waited more than a week for a Stihl part. In most cases I have them in two days if I get my order in by late morning.
You Dolmar dealers getting bent over this sort of thing is understandable. IMO its not you who are the problem, but the Dolmar itself and its distributors. They have some major problems and it doesnt appear that they are getting any better.
FWIW step one would be to admit their distribution sytem blows, and that certain modles have some design problems. Till they admit there is a problem nothing will change.

I agree with you on the distribution issue Ben but I worry about your issue on the 7900 oiler. True you had a bad experience but will you ever get over it? At some time I think all manufacturers have some design flaws that they have to work out. Here is a site that may be of help : http://www.ocdonline.com/

So the hair pulling scratching catfight continues. Very good, some dealers are good, some not so. Here a lot of dealers sell Husky and Stihl at the same time. One dealer sold me a 37" bar cheaper than another sold me a 24" bar (Oregon for Huskys). One dealer sold me caulks for .34 each, the other sold me the same caulks for .19 each. The dealer that sold me the 37" bar and the .19 caulks also has good help, guess who I like? Stihl seem to spend more on advertising and promos than Husky does here. They both make a lot of good saws and just a few dogs, why the hell would anyone that is a pro use anything other than the big two? Why go there, problems abound, stick with what you know works untill the others get it together.

THALL10326, it's always my pleasure and a rare one at that...putting a smile on a Stihl dealer's face without it costing me a lot of money. heh heh

laffing: Elmore like I told ya, we don't care if those other outfits sell for less, they know what their products are worth. We welcome your business and money even if it is harder to get it out of your pocket. How'd that new chain cut? I already know and see there you gotta pay a tad more for quailty. Which reminds me, what kind of saw did you put that chain on my freind?

What kind of saw? What else? Nothing but the best...later for the rest.

THAL10326, I moonlight a few nights a week at a Stihl dealer. When I got my Dolmar 7900 I brought it there to let them check it out. The owner nervously told me that I should get rid of it and he'd sell me an 046 at cost. The Dolmar 7900 made him nervous and I suspect you are whistling in the dark a bit here too. Stihl currently has a stranglehold on #1 in saw sales but the competition is biting at their heels and they aren't showing me anything like the specific output of a Dolmar. Come to a GTG some time and see how "superior" Stihl is, you are in for an eye-opener.

I thought at the GTGs Husky was the weapon of choice and mostly the winners? Has anyone kept a record thru the years?

That's why "superior" was in quotes. It's not Stihl and now Dolmar is winning some too.

I hope THALL10326 doesn't get hurt too badly when he falls off that high horse of his.

Ha Ha

Not really. I haven't installed it just yet. I just sharpened my Super 70 and will try the 33RS soon. The saw? A Makita DCS 520i. Low mileage...like new...starts on the first pull. I just need to keep it out of the dirt.

Elmore I sure hope that stump the blue saw is sitting on was cut on after the tree was felled, if not back to fallers school. What kind of cuts are those?

LOL, it looks like the way a stump looks when I fall a tree. Keep in mind I am just a school teacher and don't fall for a living. I fall only to meet one of my most primal needs. KEEPING WARM!! :) I never know which way it is going, well at least some of the time it goes the wrong way.

I didn't think you'd notice. When I posted this before, I had to point out these faults. When I cut that maple, I wasn't paying attention to my back cut. Here's another pic, shows a little better work.

Elmore and the schoolteacher tsk tsk. I am not a faller but I make good cuts. those pictures remind me of that idiot Bob Vila (his cuts were way worse though) showing how to fall on t.v.. Hey guys, instead of this Dolmar beef, how about spending some time on search here. Look up how to fall, proper undercuts and so forth. Seriously now.
