Ice storm trees

A few pics of ice damaged White Oak trees. Ice took down many
trees around here and ripped limbs off most trees. Some people
where with out ele. for 8 days.

This tree is 30" dia @ 3 feet up & 24" dia @ 26 feet up from that.
I will sell the logs from this one. You can't tell by the pic........but
it took down 2 other trees when it went down.

crotch

440, I don't know the dia. You are looking at the crotch in the pic
If you look in the pic, it was two trees side by side, when the ice
took them down one fell on my land the other on the cattle ranch
(over 25,000 acres) next to me. I may go take a pic of a BIG white
oak the ice fell today.

I call the crotch a double heart, that is what I meant. I would DEFINETLY sell the logs from the first pic. I don't know the price of white oak in your area, but if you sell the logs right you could get some serious cash out of the first tree. I would say the second tree is firewood, unless there is a hidden straight log in there somewhere. The third tree also looks like a seller, I don't know the straightness of the tree or how many limbs there are on it, but it looks good. Are you taking down the tree in the distance of the second pic? Man that's a nice saw!

I have never sold any logs. I have been hearing that White Oak is at a
all time high. I'm going to check into it. I think they use the Doyle Scale,
the way it looks, log in first pic should have at least 730 board feet in it.
I have heard that they are giving over a dollar per BF (just here say)

Yes the second pic tree is a fire wood tree.

Third tree above the crotch is bigger dia. than the first tree and nice
straight logs.........but a pro needs to fell it.

On e-bay..........I know...I know........but their is 3 064 parts saw
that where just listed today........MFSR price for a 064 PC kit is $225
(thought you mite want to know) they are later models than mine...
see through tanks

What is White Oak selling for in other places? Standing or hauled to the mill?

They Stihl make the 064, but it's called the 650, same casing as the 066 and 200$ cheaper. A real fast saw right out of the box if you use a dual port muffler.
John

There is a 640 in parts of the world also, that is closer to the original 064, I believe...........
