A neighbour cut down this Japanese mountain cherry (I'm in Japan). I'm ready to do my first milling, so will do this just for the experience, but it looks like a whole lot of rot in the middle. The brown parts are not soft, though.

Would you mill it? Is it worth the gas and time? Is there anything useable in there?

Appreciate any comments.PXL_20250216_053634692.jpg

I took the advice and tried it for the experience. It turned out to have rot in the middle but I made a shed load of mistakes so it was totally worth it. As you can see from the photo, very rough cuts.

A nearby farmer heard my saw and asked me to cut down her underperforming apple trees so I'll try milling them and see if I have better luck.1000000224.jpg
