I dunno RBW, I have seen some high shipping before, guess you gotta make you're money somehow:dizzy: Please let us know what you find out, thanks,
Andy

I think I saw a more expensive grinder that this guy was selling with a higher shipping rate. I saw the low price and could not figure out why it was so low, then I noticed the shipping. This seller has good feedback, but this makes it look like he is trying to trick people into bidding before they realize that there is a catch. Whenever I see that an item is from this seller, I don't even consider it. He just makes me nervious.

I've been told that the fees they pay to eBay are based on the SELLING price, so a lot of people sell cheap and charge a lot for shipping. Dunno if it's true, but it would explain a lot of stuff you see on eBay.

Your right, lot's of seller's do this to get around paying e-bay fee's. it's usually a seller that has a lot of transaction's.

Yep, looks like he is stealing from eBay by avoiding fees. Just what you want to do, deal with a thief.
What you do is win the auction, and then email him that you will pick it up to avoid the shipping costs.

Never even thought of that!!!!!!! Again Mike, you amaze me with youre wealth of knowledge:ices_rofl: :ices_rofl: :ices_rofl:
That is awsome!!!!

ebay

it is in violation to put such a huge shipping rate on an ebay item that you know does not cost that much.....they can and will close your account and fine you for waht you tryed and get away with....we all add a little to the shipping but that is against ebay rules

HMMMMMMM HF has theres on sale for 29.99 again, wonder if the store is open tomorrow?:hmm3grin2orange:

Men, I have been to Randy's shop and I assure you he is not trying to cheat a buyer. He might be trying to avoid some Ebay charges with that shipping I cant say. I can say that you can buy parts from him with the assurance that you wil be happy with them or he will make you happy.

Ok, so if I give him the buy it now of $50 will you go and pick it up for me and ship it at a realistic rate?
Andy

Thank you for including that RBW, I meant to imply that, but missed the mark for sure!!!!
I will be more than happy to pay for you're time as well!
Andy

I have been seeing a lot of this kind of crap on EBay lately. New saws for $29.00 plus $150.00 for shipping.

My response is to avoid them like the cheaters they are.

If you cannot sell your item for the money you want without cheating then you as a seller should be forced to keep it as punishment for having to much money in it to begin with.:bang:

Stupid rules are made for people who do stupid things. This type of auction is stupid.

Randy's store is done for me.To bad, he has lots of Mac parts. Never could get an answer over the phone about anything though.

It is strictly to avoid paying Ebay a large "FINAL VALUE FEE" which can only be charged to the final price of the item but not the shipping cost. It does not reflect trying to screw a buyer. Ebay just reciently put in a policy to stop this so they can reep more $$$. Since the new policy was put in place you can only charge actual shipping fees and a very reasonable amount to cover handeling and/or shipping material. Ebay stated it will take a while to police this situation but were working on it. I have bought quite a few items from people in the past with huge shipping fees and small item fees. If it adds up to a great price for me, what in the hell do I care if someone is trying to save a few dollars instead of giving it to a mega million dollar business. I was pleased with the price and service so I didn't give two SH**'S!!!!!!!!!!

Because that mega million dollar business is what affording him the ability to do what he is doing.

If everyone had that attitude, you can be rest assured Ebay will impose NEW rules, and stiffer listing and final vaule fees.

Follow the rules the way they are set up now, or dont bother listing. In the long run it will be the buyer that gets screwed.
