wrist pin clips

New poster here,been lurking for a few months though. I bought a bigbore kit for my 044 that was abused by its previous owner.Anyone have a easy way to install the clips without the sthil tool? I do hate to go to my local $#@^& dealer.But I will be nice.Does that tool work good? I suppose I could fire up the lathe and make one.On the directions the clips are shown with the ears on the clips but my kit came with the factory ones.
Also do you need to hone the aftermarket cylinder? I assume no.
