The TSC splitters are S-L-O-W. I've run hyd splitters all along and never thought there was anything other to have. I'm telling you, try one before you pass judgement.

I'll have to try to find a link to the Sawmill and Woodlot Magazine's 2009 Firewood Shootout...They did a pretty nice review and comparison of all the popular production splitters, and processors on the market, and then gave them each a cord of wood and a stop watch. Unfortunately I did not see a TSC unit anywhere in the article, but the SSHD did place right up near at the top in production time...

You'd need the pet mexican in order to fully use the speed of the Super Split.

Tractor Supply 35 Ton: 15 second cycle time.

Super Split: 3 seconds.

Friend has one he inherited (and almost gave away before he realized what he had). Him, his 14 y/o son plus another 14 y/o hired hand will split and stack a cord an hour, and none of them are "farm boys" used to hard, fast work.

At the county fair last year I saw one in action and man is it fast! I can't remember the brand of this one, but it was built here in Ohio and unless Im mistaken I believe the price was $2,100. Ill look into it.

Heres a Vid of the Super Split off the tube, looks pretty nifty. I like to see where the wedge splits the wood though to get the perfect size, looks like it would take a little getting used to. Very cool though!

Nice score! Just picked up a 28 ton Log Machine myself, it's so much easier to be able to split on-site than having to load up the rounds, unload them then split everything. Best money I ever spent!

You obviously have not watched the video on the web page. Go there and count pieces of wood the guy cranks out in 7 minutes of video time. The dude averages 1 piece every 2 seconds. Then go and find any other splitter anywhere that can match that number of pieces. A 4 way splitter spitting out 4 pieces with a 12-5 second cycle time cannot equal that (12/4=3=50% slower). These Supersplits are faster than a person splitting my hand (which is fast) but they do not tire out.

They are expensive because they are not mass produced. They have been around since the 1970s and there are pictures of some of them from that era floating around here on AS.

Naaah. The Cadillac of woodsplitters would be the Timberwolf. Big, powerful and guaranteed. The SS is more like a Ford Mustang. Get's ya there a whole lot faster and is a heck of alot more fun too.

The wood in the back was split with my old hyd unit. It got the job done for a long time, but is far from the production machine the SS is....

The engine is the Subaru, apears similiar to the Honda, fires first pull, and is very quite.
