i have a Honda 2 cycle quad powered by a 250cc air cooled motor i run it on golden spectro synthetic oil i was wondering if it would work in a saw it is supposed to be cleaner and better lubricating than standard oil.

If you don't mind mixing 32:1 to 38:1 or there about it should be fine. I ran Golden Spectro throughout the 1980's and it was a fine oil. It used to "goo" more than the newer generation oils if you mixed it too rich....I did anyway and longer wear with my Racing Motorcycles was a tangible thing. Just had to clean out power valves (mid to late 80's) and replace muffler packing more often. (I ran it in my 1978-80 KTM's, 1981-84 Kawasaki's,1984-1990 Honda's and could see over a season how mix impacted wear on those things.) Same with Bel-Ray..they changed from the MC-1 to the HR-1 to allow richer two stroke oil to gas mixtures for the racing crowd.
