Gone fishing
Soaking wet through out, just like taking a swim, need to change "all" clothes within an hour or two.
With the 241 I still get soaking wet, but I just dont notice it.

Nothing to be sorry about, quite on the contrary; the 241 is a revelation.
Its about what you actually need, and what you thought you needed.
You just call me back when you're 85 complaining your back hurts when cutting your much needed firewood.
Im gonna have to slow down and smell the roses some I guess. In other words, stop busting my ass every day and at least take time to take some pics of what I do. My truck driver sure does lol, I crawled all over him a couple months ago. He had his dang phone propped up in the loader taking video of the logs he was loading. Took him 10 minutes to get that log on the truck! Id never get anything done if he did my cutting! He would spend the whole day videoing himself cutting that 2800 ft tree! I have VERY few pics of anything work related and ZERO video.
Buddy of mine a couple years ago told me he saw me on youtube. I told him he was friggin crazy! As it turns out it was me, I had the power company out helping me put some cables in some HUGE trees laying across the powerlines. I was doing the cutting and my son was doing the pulling. I had no idea the power co guys were videoing the work! LOL. That tree in particular was a MONSTER and on top of that it was hollow with only about 12 inches of solid wood all the way around it and I absolutely couldn't tell it was hollow until I laid the saw into it. At that point it HAD to come down! I couldn't unhook and leave it. That was a tedious few minutes for sure.

Take pics not videos. I like pics better and they are quick to do.
I don't expect to be around in 37 years as that would put me over 100. I have run old MACs for years with a few newer 60cc Stihls. I didn't think I would ever be one to talk about the weight of a saw, but it seems I have done a lot of aging in the last two years. And the 500i has been a good fit for me as a weekend firewooder.

If you do not mind spending that kind of money on a saw, then go for it.
I have just not brought myself to that point yet.
Now if it were a guitar that would be different.
Ivd wished for more HP to be sure, but not more weight.
Even with the price of a 500I chainsaws are a pretty damn cheap hobby.
Not what I would call a cheap hobby but somewhere in the middle there.
But I do not collect guitars like I do chainsaws.
Now if it were classic cars then yes chainsaws are cheap.
If I could play a guitar, I would give up the chainsaw.
With only two saws at the time, a MAC 700 and an 036Pro, measuring the cost of old saw versus new levered me into several old saws. At the time I didn't know that type of thinking was addictive until I had more saws than I care to add up. Needless to say, the total so far exceeds the cost of a 500i by more than a two to one margin. I have been selling and giving away saws for several years now and have only bought the 500i. I won't say I am cured but I am on the wagon.
My 500i was less than $1150 before tax. It is the 4th new saw of my life. Two McCullochs over 40 years ago - still have the 700 and use occasionally. And the 036Pro which I still use.
With the exception of the 125C powerhead on the top shelf and two of the 800s on the second shelf, I still have these (most under $200):

A year and a half ago I bought myself a 462R for my 73nd birthday! I'm hoping to get a new 261 this year for my 75th!
(I had to edit this post when someone reminded me that I'm a year older than I thought I was!

I have with the long bars I’m talking the 60’s because it makes the balance that much easier I’m like anyone else I don’t like anymore weight then what’s needed. That said there’s time running those super long bars you want a little power head weight it helps with the weight being out there so far.
