Plan on getting it cleaned and fixed up, ready to sell.

Chris,
Yeah I can tell you that they are really powerful, and parts are readily available. They can pull a 5 footer, and the reviews are really positive...........lets see what am I forgetting? ............hmmmm........oh yeah now I remember..............YOU SUCK!!!!!!!:msp_wink:
Sorry that's just jealousy rearing its ugly head.......nice score.

I went in the place with yellow in my eyes, then the first dang one I saw was this one.

Lots of orange back there and some red green and yeller, mostly 10 series variants

Had to get this one for what the asking price was, though

Chris

Just ask the Aussies about what they think of these monsters...

Are you gonna port it and muffler mod it? It'd be one awesome race saw with that little bit of work, plus a 12 pin rim and a 10" bar with .404" chain being slung around it at high speed...

I keep thinking about that Husky 350 I traded for that old Pioneer... I actually kinda miss it...

I wonder if its new owner ever got that thread problem fixed yet or not.

:msp_mad::msp_mad::msp_mad: Yep, You suck,

Sweet score and you got a big saw that i don't have.
All i know is the early 3120's had a primer and not a
choke but had more power than the later models.
The primer is now obsolite.

This doesn't have a primer bulb, but the carb on this has a bigger throat than I've ever seen on any other saw before.

I took the air filter cover off, I was expecting a big jug under there, but man, that thing is huge for a chainsaw.

I got a chance to run JP's at the gtg, but only made one pass in small wood. They got some pretty good pull, though. Maybe I'll have this thing together in the next week or so.

Chris

Nice! We have one at work really strong runner's, and pull the biggesst of bar's. We have it for big tree's that come down across county road's. Nice saw's.

i likey, that's on my list for my 80's husky lineup. hmmm, i do have some extra yellow.:msp_wink:

Good saws, Us models had a few variations, Some ingnition limited to 11,500 some 9,600. Some have to lean fixxed H jet. You can fix with carefull drilling or reaming or order a bigger jet if available or needed. Some crankshafts were drilled on the clutch end for lubing the drum bearing.

Well, I think I figured out what is wrong with it. The bearing where the connecting rod meets the crankshaft is pretty crunchy.

Does the case need to be split in order to replace this bearing?

Can anyone hook me up with a part number for it?

I haven't had any computer access for a week or so, my hard drive crashed and I have been using my iPhone for Internet duties, which isn't quite the same.

The piston still has the machine marks on it and the saw is in rather sound shape. Just will need some parts here and there and the bearings.

Thank you,

Chris

If you end up not building it, holler at me as I'd like a 3120 parts saw to help keep mine going.

and... the mufflers are friggin expensive ($100+) and all your bar oil will come right out that hole where that missing muffler support bolt should be.

the throttle cables "may" be prone to fraying, I had to replace mine along with most of the rubber antivibe's
