Hey guys,
I wanted to get some Makita 6800i decals made but I have no idea what they look like and google isn't helping much.

Does anyone have a picture of their recoil/starter or clutch cover with a decent decal?
The 6000i and 6800i should be the same. Even some 120/120si or 6000i/6800i Dolmar pictures would help.

THanks guys!

If you dont come up with anything Nate, I have a friend with a Dolmar 6800- but dont know what the decal differences are. Any reference pic that Ive came up with had the decal missing.

Thanks, this one is my best find to date. It was in an auction for a shop that had closed down. I didn't even clean it up yet when I took those photos.

Is that a heated handles switch I see on the side????? If so... VERY NICE!

Do we get to ask what the cost was at auction? I just overpaid for my Makita that was in marginal shape so don't make me feel too bad... ;)

No heated handles on my 6000i. As for pricing, lets just say it was south of $100.

That is an awesome saw! How come everyone is always talking about those ugly 6400s with the goofy dawgs. I'd much rather have one of those 6000is. Far better looking.

I sent my ported 7901 down the road... but my 120si is here to stay- there is something very pleasing to the eyes about this series of saw.

:puke: That even more ugly big air filter that doesn't make the saw any faster! Yuk...

Question though, on my 120si- are those dawgs still avail or transferable from another model? or should I have one fabbed up?

I think you can find the 3point dawgs on ebay and chainsawr.com when the pop up. The inside and outside dawg are exactly the same so you can trace and cut another out if you want. 65cc+ saws need 2 dawgs! I'll probably be cutting a couple more or having some laser cut in the future since I have 2 saws without them.

just type in dolmar bucking or dolmar dawg and you can find them. Cheap option is getting some steel and cutting/grinding your own out of sheet metal instead of spending $13... 116/120/6800 are all the same spike. You can probably ask nice and get someone to trace one for you and mail you the pattern for free...

They're full of it, this is a thing of beauty......

I usually don't like to agree with guys that drink Miller High Life but :msp_tongue: ... I like both looks! Just as long as it's blue and not orange! Too many people make an orange saw... stihl, husky, dolmar... Makita blue pops out in a crowd of similar colors!:msp_biggrin:

On my 6000i, the ipl listed a outer dawg and I went to the dealer to order it. When it came in it was a inner spike and not a outer one.

I looked at it closely and decided the only difference was that it had two rivnuts swagged into it. I twisted the rivnuts out and bolted the inner spike onto the clutch cover. It has all the correct clearance holes and everything. Looks Perfect.

true... you can also cut 2 identicle dawgs out of sheet steel and just use lock nuts from the hard ware store too...
