6800i vs 6000i question...

Are these saws supposed to be K095 or D009 or either?

The 6800i Makita was smaller than a D009 9mm stud size, and with the bar adjuster flipped up it seems to be K095 bar.

However, I know you can flip the bar adjuster stud upside down to accept D009. I didn't check the stud size on the 6800i Dolmar yet.

I was hoping these things were all D009 but looking on acres both the 6000i and 120SI are listed as the 8.2mm K095 size. So the question becomes... Are there bar studs you can use to convert from 8.2mm K095 into 9mm D009???

I've been mounting my D009 on the Dolmar 6800 but really never looked for any slop in the bar...

The 6000 and 6800 are supposed to be small mount husky

The 6400, 7300, & 7900 are large mount.

I'm at a loss here. Guys are complaining about the looks of one saw versus another, and your reply is a photo of a beautiful lady and sasquatch?

That was an 066 Red Light, nothing like a sasquatch??

So would it help anyone if I figured out a 9mm bar stud that would convert the 6800 to large mount? Seems like 68cc it too big of a saw to be a small mount... D009 has more bars available for a saw that is as capable as the 6000-6800!

That would be great. I've always wondered why they were small mount?

Flip your bar adjuster stud over an a D009 fits just right... Just need to figure out oiling holes and 9mm bar studs... I'll take a look at it this weekend!

Some press on bushings would work on the bar studs

10-4... The 6800i Dolmar that I have has been converted to D009. TO make things even better the bar adaptors that steve is cutting to convert Dolmar Large mount to Stihl 12mm mount also fit like a glove once you have the D009 bar studs on.

I looked at the other saws I have and the 9010, 6400/7900, and jred 630 studs will not work. The dolmar studs are to short and the 630 studs don't have the shoulder/washer. You need studs that have the built in washer/shoulder that bottoms out the stud in the holes, and the studs need to be a little over 1inch (from case to outside tip) to fit the clutch covers on the 6800i-6000i series. I'll look into the part number above next.

I believe that part #010232020 is the factory conversion kit from K095 to D009

OUCH! $24 from E&E for a couple bar studs... I wouldn't mind finding another saw with suitable replacement studs to barrow the parts from.

This also begs the question of whether I can convert my 520i to D009 as well. Having D009 on the 520i isn't about having more D009 bar choices but more being able to use the new Dolmar to Stihl adaptor so I can use 12mm stihl bars which are plentiful around here.
