So I know the 024AV has a smaller stroke than the 024AVS and 026 (which have the same). But I have a later 024 - it says 024 on the badge not 024AV, it says made in Germany - not west Germany, has new style filler caps and a clear fuel tank.

My question is - what stroke is it? Did they scrap the 024 super and go backwards, or did the 024AVS become the plain old 024? I'd find the former hard to believe, but mainly cos I don't want to...

I'm pretty sure there wasn't an 024 Super which wasn't the AVS. I guess I should've measure it when I put new rings in, but it didn't occur to me.

OK, so the 026 has a 32mm stoke. I guess the 024AVS had a 32mm as well then. So why did they discontinue the 024AVS and keep the 024AV? That's a backward step surely. And I assume the 024AV and 024AVS were never side by side - so they must have stopped the 024AV then restarted it. WTF?
