IMO if your a stihl fan its a good time to stock up on 440s. I really never cared for the 460 or even other bigger other saws like 7900's, but it is all personal preference. The 460's imo use prolly 25% more gas than the 440's, but for the wood i cut the 440 is about perfect. If I did want a saw bigger than a low 70 cc saw like a 372/440 I'd go with a 064 or a 660.

I knew I had read 4.5kW somewhere.

If you check the link I posted it says it's a 2-mix {2-mix = strato} and uses 20% less fuel and produces 50% emissions reduction. Sorry, it's a strato.

Yes it is a strato, here are the GS 461 features which has the same internals as the ms461 AFAIK.

-Air filter system with pre-separation for longer life
-Stratified scavenging, 70% lower emissions
-2-MIX engine, lower fuel consumption by up to 20%
-Anti-vibration system
-Side chain tensioning
-HD2 heavy duty air filter
-In board clutch
-Captive bar nuts

i was also told no more 440's after the first of the year
661 changeover around then as well
