Log splitter #3 Lots of build pictures

Well guys its finally done. This was the 3 splitter I have built now and each time I have made improvements. This splitter is running a Briggs 11.5 engine with a haldex 16gpm bump and a prince valve. All the hardware is 304 stainless. This splitter is designed for road manners. Will go down the insterstate with zero issues. Splitter has a hydraulic fluid sight/temp gauge and also a filter indicator gauge for seeing the condition of the hyd filter. The log rack is 24" long and can be removed or one side can just be used. If there is any questions and suggestions please feel free to ask and point out. I will not be keeping this splitter since I still have the 2nd one I built. I will the posting this in the classified section and will post a link when it's there.

Setting the tung, notice the angles on the axle stubs, that way I can get a much better measurement while squaring the tung up.

Awesome build, incredible work. May I ask what makes it interstate worthy as opposed to let's say my TW-P1? Not undermining you, just not obvious to me yet.

Larger tires and lots better bearings. And it has a low center of gravity compared to most.

You are correct sir. Wheel base is, 54" center of tire to center of tire.

I would love to but since I'm selling this one I would like to keep it looking new. Gota keep the paint all nice and shinny

ok first impressions... Looks awesome! love the side racks and all the little touches like stainless, temp guage, color scheme, etc etc etc!!!! But since ur looking for critics I always have a few questions and critques...

1.) what is the capacity of the hydro tank?
2.) I haven't read much about splitters so what's with the double edge wedge?
3.) what is the pump and engine set up?
4.) does it have the auto return when you want the wedge back up?
5.) does it have zerks for greasing the main slide?
6.) does the pump call for 11.5Hp or is that just overkill?

I'm sure you see my ignorance by now... others probably know this stuff by the parts list. Sorry gotta clue in th newbie. I'm into chainsaws and haven't quite made into spliters and heavy equipment...

critiques...
1.) I like a bigger foot when upright to help with stability on softer ground. The current splitter I use has a smaller rectangular foot on it and tends to tip on the ground where I spilt...
2.) I like using 13in car tires b/c I have had to many of those little 4bolt tires blow on the highway when they get hot.

Can't wait to see it at the GTG!!!!! Do Iowan's get a discount? LOL! where in iowa are you located?

Ground clearance looks lacking, and the engine is in harms way from anything that might get kicked up from a tire. Hoses should be secured as well.

I'd like to see it demonstrated, because that cage looks hard to use with big rounds. To me, it seems like you'd be leaning over it and reaching to lift splits all the time.

Tank will hold approximately 11 gallons, 8 in there now.
The step wedge acts like 3 stages. Instead of a full 10" of wedge trying to cut into a piece of wood all at once this starts to crack it open and then the full length takes over and last it really pops it open. Makes a say 20 ton splitter be able to do the work of a much larger. (More efficient) for the stubborn wood that is.
Engine is a Briggs 11.5 torque and pump is a haldex 2 stage 16gpm pump.
The prince valve dowse auto return and is fully adjustable.
