wow, that's some skill right there, fitting that little bit of rod in that lathe...... bloody awesome. I bet that job is worth some money too

We have a bloody awesome turner. Nothing phases him. I true tradesman.
We got a quote from the factory for a new one. They wanted 32 grand for it.
I could make one for less than 10.

Looks to be a bit more than 250kgs lol

Lol just a tad. Did the cals... 940kgs. [emoji50]
Used 2 cranes to get it in and out but still dodgy as for the 250kg hoist.

That crane and hoist shouldn't have any problem, it just goes from a Safe Working Load to a Not Quite As Safe Working Load....no probs...

Just did a walk around the new property perimeter fencing today.

About 80 stringybarks and a couple of dozen box are hitting the fence line....and another few hundred within a meter of the boundary fence.

Better drop em before I put up the new fence I think.
Nah. Do as the farmers here and staple direct to the bloody trees. And throw in a few more staples and random bits of wire for the trees to swallow. In twenty years time when you sell up, the new owner can get some bloke in to drop your fenceline trees and then biartch at the lack of progress while they run to the store for more chains. Oh and if the access to those fencelines is pretty good, plant another 300 trees along each and every access route. Oh, and build a few high value 'targets' within striking distance of the trees too. The tree guy who has to clean it all up, taking all the risks for SFA $ will thank you, honest.

Yep all that sounds famillularrrrrr

No chance..

Was out there today clearing fence lines thinking I need a decent big brush cutter but fired up the little Stihl chainsaw and it probably did a better job than any brush cutter could have....bit safer with a brush cutter I guess when working up against a ring lock fence though.

Found 4 Ltrs of round up 450 in the shed and some powder that looks like brush off....should do the trick with anything left near the fence.

So you have bought or buying out there ?

Bought.

Settle soon so doing work out there on my days off so I don't need to do emergency stuff when we move in....200mtrs of fencing and gate needed now, but it needs about another 1200mtrs of fence replacement this year. Termites have pretty well stuffed all the hardwood posts.

Replacing with a ringlock to 1150 then two top wires minimum. It has stand off hot wire inside the perimeter but it's mostly overgrown so won't work until I finish clearing
