caber bevel edged rings seem to seat in as little as half a tank or up to 4 tanks, oem rings can range from 2 tanks to 10. cheap chinese rings seem like they never seal right and folks think idling a whole tank through them before real use solves their issues.
Best advice I can offer is to get all parts needed and fully tear everything down to learn how to rebuild before you start trying your hand at repairs. This will teach every things place on a saws engine and whats required to replace it, cleanliness is a huge factor in engine repair/rebuilding longevity so get everything spotless before assembly/repair.

Break in doesn't mean how much time a saw runs. It's how many heat cycles has it gone through. All metals differ, but heat cycles changes the temper or hardness of said metal. It's the heating and cooling the metal goes through that does the "breaking in"

Ok thank since I have had my saw I have mainly just cut up limbs I have cut off with a pole saw until yesterday I finally got it into some good wood and the more I cut the better it was running

I have had more saws break down than break in,but I would say 6-10 tanks average.I change plugs every 2 years whether they need it or not

A few tanks of fuel at least usually for break in.
I've never worn out a spark plug in a small engine, but I've had them fail. Honestly they are one of the most reliable components on average in any engine. They can have half their electrodes worn away and still work.
If they look ok and continue to work properly, I continue to use them. Clean, check the gap and quality of the spark once in a while and go from there.

Yep, they ether work or don't work. If it ain't broke don't fix it.Except for a car. You tend to get better millage with new ish plugs vs old worn improperly gaped ones.
Thats why I asked i am more familiar with car engines i am newer to 2 strokes

I have read to run Petro gas for 1st tank or three, alternating RPM, then use synthetic, as some MFR say synthetic oil will not allow rings to seat?

chrome rings in a chrome bore will suffer seating problems but most saws run cast iron rings in nik bores. Older models had chrome bores and there are a few aftermarket offerings of chrome bores.
