I call them flip caps. Flippy caps seems like something a canadian guy on roller skates wearing a fanny pack would say.

I'm kinda neutral on Stihl flippy caps.
One bad experience...slight crack in black/white plastic connections.
Couldn't see it until removed/replaced and assimilate standard closure.
Then small crack seen and why saw was leaking bar oil...soooo slowly.
I prefer the screw in caps...

I'm in the I don't care group, but have learned to carry a set of spares cause if one fails in the field the saw's outta commission. A C

I don't hate the flippy caps, they are inanimate objects. But the guy that invented them aughta be hung up by his :censored:!!

For some reason the oil tank flippy is the only ones that seem to be a PITA.
After replacing them, it's just a matter of time before ya gotta index them by hand before reinstalling.
The concept of having 3 Moving parts do the job of one, is what I find annoying. The simple ramped thread has been around a while now, and pretty much has proven it's superior reliability.

I don't mind the flip caps at all. I only have them on one of my saws, but took a liking to them pretty quick. Haven't had any fitment issues with mine...

I've never used them. so what does that mean? I've got part of a burnt down and crushed 310 flippy cap carcass. Does that count for something? Should I convert my 029 to flippy caps?? I'm confused????
I haven't used them a lot, but I am certain I like the old style much better.
For me the old style is easiar to use and doesn't let sawdust fall in the tanks as bad as the flippy.

Nothing wrong with the flippy IMO. No problems with them so far and alot more conveinient IMO.
