I've heard some good things about the lockjack and want to know what is the better purchase. I also would like to hear any more pros or cons you all may have about this device.

Go with the Lockjack sport. As I understand it the Lockjack twin has the longer tail to the bridge and the longer rope on the release handle. A better solution is to use the LJ sport and use a bridge extension. That gets the LJ up and out of the way and leaves enough room underneath to clip in a hand ascender. Then, since all the "work" is below the closed loop of the Lockjack, it becomes self advancing; you never have to touch it. Same way for foot locking or using a Pantin. The LJ forms a closed loop and self advances. The bridge extension needs to be long enough to provide enough distance between the saddle and the LJ while still keeping the LJ within reach. I use the longer end of Rich_H s Anchor Bridge setup and it works well but is a bit too long for me. Once you've asecended and are in work position, lanyard in and pull the lockjack down and clip it close to the saddle. Again, this is similar to the Anchor Bridge setup but uses the LJ instead of a hitch. I use both a Master and a Glide dependent upon what I'm doing. With the fixed attachment on the Master I can clip very close to the saddle. With the Glide, because of the floating bridge, the LJ can end up over by the side D's and it gets too crowded so with the Glide I use a shorter bridge extension and just leave it extended without clipping it close to the saddle. Contact Rich_H , he's a great guy and makes some beautiful splices and I'm sure he'll splice you up whatever you need. Here's a pic of the two bridge extensions.
