Need 028 parts for a burn victim

I don't ask for much around here but this is a special occasion, here is the back story. My cousin recently had an electrical fire destroy his garage and many of the things inside it. When I stopped over to survey the damage he informed me that his insurance policy only covered the garage and not the contents so other than the structure all was lost including a nice 028 farm boss. In disgust he handed me his once prized saw and told me I could have it for a boat anchor. My cousin is a stand up guy that would give the shirt off his back just to help someone and used the 028 to cut fire wood for the needy/elderly people in his neighborhood. In a good will gesture I would like to repair his saw back to usable condition so he can continue helping others with it. This is where I hope the AS community will come together and Donate or sell me some 028 parts, if you have something to donate I can pay shipping or I will buy if need be. The parts needed include a chain break handle, top cover, air filter cover, and a starter cover. I plan on tearing it down tonight so the parts list may grow but for now this is what I see it needs. Here is a list of 1118 parts that I have. That should be 028. I'm sorry I cant do them for free though. I bought all this parts stock, and trying to get my money back out. I'll give ya the best deal I can though.

Thanks for the offer Parrisw but after closer inspection it appears to be a 028 super so I don't know if standard 028 parts will interchange. Here is my progress so far, all the covers are off along with the chain break handle and the heat bubbling on the fuel tank is sanded smooth and coated in epoxy.





Over all most of the damage is cosmetic but the recoil keeps it from starting.
Updates as they come.

I have an 028Super I put a new crank in just needs reassembled.Has maybe 10 hours run time at the most.Pay shipping and I'll send it to you instead of messing with that burnt pile.

I'll se what I can dig up for you tomorrow.

PM your name and address and I'll send you the starter assembly. Have a carb too, but I suspect that one is OK.

It's a complete saw minus bar and chain. They put an impact on it to change the sprocket.....go figure.

I have too many projects.I'm working on a Jonsered 2055 right now that was give to me so I'm just paying it forward.

I have a top cover for a regular WB. If interested shoot me a PM ans I'll get it out to you. If you end up needing a tank just let me know. Also, I have a recoil assembly as well.

dam, That's pretty rough but burnt saws can be saved.

man a fire in the shop sucks!

if you asked a week ago i could have sent you every part you listed and a tank, all for shipping... but i sold all my 028 stuff in a lot.

Hey, no worries. What's the series of part numbers for 028 super? Some must fit.

same series #. same saw minus the bigger p/c. maybe some other tiny details?
though you need to watch out for the early 028 with the solid handbrake, three bolt recoil, and weird muffler with welded nuts and a sideways mounting bolt.

edit: and the case has provisions for said muffler.

Since there has been many offers from fellows that live much closer than I then I will just say the members on the whole and this site ROCKS!!!
