Tried to remove the top plastic cover on my 026 the other day to change the plug and I could not get the fastener to budge. It looks like it takes a flat head screwdriver, probably the one on my scrench. Is that all there is to it? Or am I missing something? Have it soaking in blaster right now, but I am not optimistic.

And yes, its been a while since I had it off, obviously.

Thanks,
Tim

Sometimes the nut seizes on screw.
a good big flathead is needed.
put saw on ground and lean on screwdriver with your weight and turn screw. Don’t let it slip as you will round off nut flats as it is aluminum and then your screwed- no pun intended-lol

You kind of dredged up an old thread- could have put this on your own.
Try Kroil- its dissimilar metal corrosion steel stud and aluminium nut- add damp and them two do not play nice.
Square bladed screwdriver and then you can put an adjustable wrench on the driver shaft for more leverage- or, you know that the older Stanley driver handles are shaped to fit a ring end spanner eh?
