OK thanks I'm gonna go in depth with the tests and narrow it down soon as I get back home... I'm gonna do some more digging on here as well to learn as much as I can... I would like to have it ported as well but don't really know if it would make a big difference... kinda new to the chainsaw world but worked on plenty of cars and bikes... if anyone thinks of anything else feel free to let me know I really appreciate the help..
Well how many times did you pull it over to get that reading on the compression test? Keep pulling till it stops rising or what Grizz said its your tester.

I pulled it over 10x or better hit 30 on the 2nd pull but wouldn't go any higher when I hit the release valve it sounded like it had allot more than 30 psi tho

Well yeah I plan on doing that ne ways... I'm in Arkansas ATM cutting trees that are down from that ice storm and my saw is in Alabama 9 hrs away...

Here is a pic of the piston and rings they look ok to me what do yall think?

To me it looks like carbon build up in the exhaust post is sanding away the face of your piston- see the up and down fine lines and tiny bits of alloy sitting on top of the rings?

Yes I wondering about that.. thsts actually a groove wore in it I didn't notice it until my finger nail caught on it... the muffler has been gutted as well completely hollow...

So finally got a chance to tear it down but the piston and cylinder look fine beside this one small gouge in the piston... the connecting rod has some side to side play is this normal? What are yalls thoughts?
