Hey guys, the bearings, seals and meteor piston are on order. The bearings and seals are the weedeaterman kits and I haven't found a bad thing about them in all my searches so were gonna give them a try. I also ordered a OEM intake boot on eBay for 18$. Still need to get a fuel line and impulse line and might just order them from the dealer.

What would you guys do with the clutch on my saw? Should I get an aftermarted replacement or just replace the springs?

Also It was recommended that I order some OEM cir clips for the meteor piston, what's your guys take on that?

And last for right now, would you re use the oil line or replace it with new?

I've got a MS440 that I'm working on; Will the old 044 heavy FW work on a 440?

Is there a different Part # for the heavy?
yes i convert all my 440 saws to the early heavy one ,helps tourque ,while you are at it ,file about 1/3 off the flywheel key ,hold the flywheel counterclockwise against it when you tighten the nut ,helps throttle response advancing the timing also ,the taper of the crank keeps the flywheel tight ,the key is just for alignment ,has nothing to do with keeping it from spinning

Just cleaned up the cyl on the 044 and was hoping to get some opinions of if you guys think it is good enough?

that should be it , the 660 one i have is larger ,the 044 one fits all my smaller saws too ,looks like this one

Those ports will be taken care of once the saw is back together it will be getting shipped out for some TLC by a member here, just trying to find if the cyl looks good enough to run and send out and port

Also does anyone know what thread die I need for the threads on the flywheel side of the crank? I need to clean them up and see if I can use my old crank or if I need to use the replacement. Thanks

I use the reflective aluminum tape the air conditioning guys use for sealing duct. Works well under the top covers and it's cheap(free to me). Yours may withstand heat better.
