084 broken exhaust mount

Last night I was taking the muffler off my 084 checking on things and I snapped one of the two mounting bolts off flush. Being the ever resourceful idiot that I am I decided I would just drill out the bolt and use an easy out. Drilling it out was going well and just wasn't getting a good bite on the bolt so I decided smack it with a hammer. Scene two is I broke a chunk off the cylinder. Being one of the most expensive jugs in the stihl line up I'm pretty upset with myself. Have done a search and seems like having somebody weld in more material then drill and tap is the way to go. Just wanted to check on here if anybody had gone through this or post it as a word of causion for anybody trying extract a broken bolt.

I have had a ear on a saw case welded back on with good results on more than one saw..

Yep, have a good welder fix that up. Not the end of the world; nearly everything is fixable.

Yah I looked at that. I don't think there is enough meat left. I was already pretty deep when it broke. Honestly I don't think I can bring myself to do any more drilling haha.
