MAdsaw was referring to a domed piston for a 262.

you had talked about a dished piston in the 261.

Does husky make a domed piston for the 262 ?

Thanks for pointing that out Manual!

The Part number I gave was for the regular flat top piston. It is the only part number listed in any of the IPL's that I have, which cover the years 1990-1998. I don't see anything in the service bulletins either, so I suspect that there is no domed piston available from Husky.

I agree with this, they are very close, but I have no idea how to explain it. I think that in wood up to about 18", it would be hard to tell them apart. I think that this is often the case with saws in the same family.

Obviously, you have to look at more than just CC's. This just happens to be such a good overall design, and since all 3 saws share most of the same parts, they all perform very well.

I'd like to see a 362xp-365 comparison. Even though the 365 is now dead and 362 soon to be....just to see if it's worth the price difference, since in the last yr they were both available power price was about $90 us difference

I had a couple of 262's, awesome saws ! sadly lacking in engine reliability though both seized, the second saw after only 8 months but they were worked hard every day but evan though i cleaned the air filter daily they seemed to only last a year or so.......but definietly the most powerfull mid range saw i have ever used......i think the piston shape had little to doi with the power maybe it was down to the ignition system those saws used to scream!

The max power and max low end torque is the same acc to independant dyno testing, but the 362xp has a "higher" high end - so make a guess-------:biggrinbounce2:

Btw, the Euro MS361 matches the 362xp numbers, from 3.4 less cc, and weights more than a pound less (more mag, less plastic, and smaller power-head in general)......:biggrinbounce2:

The 262xp is a different story, lighter and more powerful than the 362xp.
