Working on the replacement of the Mac Eager-Beaver T-handle saw for climbing needs.
Stihl 026 for the limbing and smaller trees.
Dolmar PS7900 makes short work of most things.

Lots of other saws lurking around here but this is my current three saw setup when needed.

No Sir,

It just means that you are a LOT more anxious to horse around the BIG saws all day than some of us.
The older you get, the more appealing saws like the MS260 and 5100 become.

thus the reason for the 346xp and the 7900, most power for the wieght, the 880 is for the mill I'm getting later this year..I'll be the first to say my 026 is my favorite saw, but when you need it, the power sure is nice..

:agree2: If I had bigger wood to cut.I had the 026 and the 359 both muffler modded at the same time and used the 026 way too much more so got rid of the 026 and had the the 359 ported,with a 16",20" and 28" B/C and got a Husqvarna 44 for small stuff with a 16" and 13" B/C.I don't need a big saw right now so this is my 3 saw plan.I sure would like a 7900 though

Funny I was looking at them the other day (HomeDepot), and comparing it to Stihl and Dolmars T handles. How's it running for you, did you need to mod it? Did a search here on that model, some have opened up the muffler. I would think a good sharp chain would be just fine.

The 026 with a 16" bar has been one of my favorites as well, since the purchase of the 7900 with a 20" and 28" bars, it has got some well needed rest. Waiting for its turn when/if needed. Guess I like to get finished up fast as well.

These are the saws the i use the most, (the 361 would last forever at the rate that i use it):

361 (needs ported)
ported 460
ported 660

the 660 and 460 see most of the work, the 361 just doesn't have the umph for me. and i got the 084 if i really need it.

In the OP's plan, the 361 will gather dust. The 346 is handier and will do 85% of what the 361 will do. For the bigger stuff, the 7900 will be picked because it's much more fun.

If I had to pick 3 saws out the ones I own it would be ms260, ms441 and ms880. Thou my fav saw is my 441 what a great saw.

Yeah I'd say 044/372xpw/066, and I would take a Solo either 675 or 680/681. Sorry Rick if you see I wouldn't take a Dolkita over a Solo LMFAO.

Yeah I'm pretty much Stihl biased, and some Husqvarna.

Biased 3 saw plan

Shindaiwa 488 for most firewood and household chores. Maybe not the prettiest saw out there but the 488's have been darned reliable.

Shindaiwa 577 for the 'tweeners. Would use in my one saw plan.

Shindaiwa 757--If I need a bigger saw, I'm out of my league.

For firewood I'd like to try a Husqvarna 359 and a Stihl 361, but I can do just fine with what I've got.

for firewood i take my s25, and poulan 3300,,, but the craftsman/roper has been coming along more lately,,, if i ran into wood bigger then they can handle, i probably couldn't lift it into the truck anyhow!!!!
