346xp with cat. muffler

I would like to scrap the cat muffler on the 346xp that my father uses. I'm guessing just get one for a saw thats pre e-tec?
Re-adjust the carb and live happily ever after or is there more to the "e-tec" thing than just the muffler?
I looking to get just a little more torque from the saw without increasing the noise level or investing in a woods port job.

Thats pretty much it. Get a non-etech muffler and cut of the limiter tabs and adjust carb...

I maxed out richening the mix with my 346 limiter caps. Of course I'm concerned its too lean. Does anyone have a before/after photo of the Husky limiter cap removal? I am a little concerned about cutting too much.

take of enough off so you can turn the jets arround a full circle, a screwdriver and a carpet knife is what I have used on my saws

Just for the record, the 346xp and several other smaller Huskys and Jonsereds has been sold with or without E-tech for a long time, and they still do, but probably not at all markets.......

Atleast here ALL huskys are sold as non e-tech and you have to pay MORE if you want e-tech (which no one wants)
