It's one of the McOddballs. I think only McCulloch used it (mostly on the X-10 saws). Mark H has some of it. It's fine if you have the sprocket to run it....

I have 50' of .050 and 100' of .058 (or vice versa) and a good supply of rim type sprockets. I have never seen any .354 sprocket nose bars so I only run it on hard nose bars.

It is all chipper style chain so not the fastest in a cut, but does hold up well to all day cutting.

In addition, I have maybe 8 new 61 DL loops, and another 10 or 12 used loops.

As Aaron pointed out, something McCulloch tried to make sure people came back to them for the chain.

It you care to pick up a roll or two I'll be happy to pick them up when I pass by your way on 18 September, or I can drop off a few .354 sprockets and you can try some for yourself. Let me know if I need to bring the breaker and spinner along.

What's odd is that .354 is 9mm, you'd expect this pitch to have originated in Europe. Maybe McC had a Euro manufacturer making their chains? Troll, where are ya?

Hi,

I have a P21 Pioneer that has what appears to be .354 x 058 Stihl

DSS,
If you find anymore info on a possible "pioneer only" chain, please let me know.

Thanks, Don

so what file do I use on the old Mac .354 chain? 13/64? 3/16?

Old thread, but I do have an update...I have been able to find a few .354 sprocket noses in the Windsor 3 rivet configuration so I have a few saws in the display with .354 chain and sprocket nose bars. Lower RH corner of the photo you will see a sprocket and a sprocket nose still in their packages.
