Hows it done?? Bit confused on this! what happen to being able to use a combi spanner or is there a special tool you now have to use to get husky clutches off.
Iwas a bit reluctant to get a big pair of pliers or grips in case i damage the clutch or springs.
cheers,mat

Redneck clutch tool

Here's what I just fabricated to remove the clutch hub from my 371. A little rough but it worked like a champ. It's a spark plug wrench(no screw driver end, not a scwrench), made cut outs with Dremel, a little tweakin' with a pair of channel locks and some final grinding again with the Dremel. Voila! Or you could go the easy route and buy one.:hmm3grin2orange:

thanks for the replys .......Got out the dremmel and attacked a combi spanner.
Dont ever recal the clutch being on that tight!had to get some one to hold the saw down so i could get more leverage on the thing after slipping off and stabbing my arm on to the dogs..wich was nice

Ouch! Those things sure do bite. Luckily I had mine removed at the time. Mine came off hard too but I wasn't able to find a second set of hands. So I had to endure a couple of slips until I got it right. If I was thinking I'd probably have installed an old bar and put it in the vise. My screw up was removing the P & C before remembering to remove the clutch hub.:censored: Sat there scratching my head thinking, how am I going to get this done??:dizzy: So drop back and punt, re-install brain, P&C, piston stop and remove the darn clutch. Good thing this is a hobby project otherwise I'd starve for sure.

well it the topend is removed why not put it to your advantage, place something in the crankcase to stop the crank. the best is the side closest to the clutch.
I have used a screwdriver also a block of kd hardwood will work
I think this is better than stopping the piston because of where the force is applied.
