As I have posted, I recently bought a 372XP x-torque. I know that the OE is hailed as being the finest of the fine, but because of loyalty, I bought the NE from my local dealer. I posted on the Husqvarna FB, asking about the XP bubble decals, which mine didn’t have, but I had seen a few and figured they were the new thing. I got a lot of profanity, a lot of people forcefully using their profanity to reinforce their assurance that it is a clone saw, and I got screwed, and a couple little nuggets of information, which I want to ask about here where people seem to have been raised a little better.
One was that apparently the decompression release in the top cover is a give away of an x torque. Why has the release moved? What changed.
Apparently the bubble XP decal was on OE saws? Not long lived? When did they start/stop with it? What other identifying features other than the decal help me spot an OE in the wild?

The Facebook groups are kind of rampant with keyboard warriors, chest thumpers and man card validators. Wouldn’t be so terrible if a little larger percentage knew what they were talking about.

I’ve seen the decal on some and not on others. They pop up on Facebook from time to time. Might be able to find one in a 372 IPL and order one, I don’t know

I don’t want one, i was just curious if they narrowed down to a certain timeframe or pre/post design change. When you see something online or are looking for parts/plastic/whatever. That’s a pretty easy thing to spot.

I wouldn't lose much sleep or put too much merit into the Husqvarna FB group. X-torque 372 cylinders have the decomp on the top of the cylinder, accessed through a hole in the top cover. The original 372 cylinders are an entirely different design, with the decomp on the side of the cylinder, below the top cover, setting horizontal.
