I saw an ad for a Stihl 020 AV on Craigslist for 5$. Called the guy right away and he said I could have it. I don't know the first thing about these saws and I have no need for a top handle saw, but for 5$ how can you go wrong? It has good compression and it starts but won't stay running. He said he thought maybe it was the pickup and he had replaced that but that didn't solve the problem, then he said he thinks it might be a problem w/ the carb (diaphram). I'm gonna see if I can get it running.

I saw that this morning but was a little to far away. nice little saws, sometimes a pita to work on but worth it.

That's a sweet deal you found. I have one myself and love it. A tad heavier than my 020T, but very dependable. After started and warmed up it normally starts on the first pull. I have a question though, mine has a chain brake, is this a newer version than the one pictured?

Excellent deal! Great saw to have around the yard or on the SUV when you head to camp.

One of mine has a chain brake too.
Neither of mine are running. I've read of so much frustration with these carbs. that I've been hesitant to get started on messing with mine.

Might want to offer to sell them. LOL I would be interested in taking those saws off your hands so that you don't have to suffer from them no more. LOL. I started trimmihg with an 009L (had to start somewhere and the funds only allowed this purchase at the time). Came across the 020av and used it on quite alot of trees. Bought an earlier 335 Husky, which someone felt they needed more than I did and stole it. Now have an 020T, which has just recently joined the family.

Funny thing about this CAD going around on here. My symptom is that I can't bear to part with them until I've at least cut for a day with them.
And then I usually want to keep them (much to my wife's dismay).
At least they take up much less room than motorcycles (and they sound almost as nice).

Send them to me guys,........no, really....i'll take them.....offer them a very good home.....it's nice up here....................LOL. :givebeer:
