I know what you mean, it is very confusing, especially when there is replacement part numbers.
Chill out, order one, they usual come quicker than stated. They are great saws and well worth fixing up. Do your saws have CAT's? If so gut them out, run better and cooler.
I just picked up a 5121 which had piston scoring, no cause that I could see after testing pressure / vac etc, so must have been straight gassed or carb not set properly, picked up OEM piston, cleaned up cylinder, set it up with tach and it runs well. Makes a cheap saw. I bought this one as a parts saw as low use and believed it would be useful for bits for my 2 5030 saws, but after examination realised it was too good for parts and fixed her up, so need another parts saw now!! It's usual for me, I buy a saw for parts, then usually find they don't need much, so fix them up and cycle starts again! 60 plus saws later!! Mostly Dolmar / Makita's old school and new generation. CAD keeps me busy!!
