Joe your blunt honesty always kills me! I was trying to be nice! Good post!

Joe Was being nice in my book. My skin is thick enough.. I thought Joe was being a little too nice. Speaking of my skin, poison ivy is kickin my arse. Time to invest in long sleeve work shirts.

My psychic abilities did not fail me on this thread. As soon as I saw jake's OP I figured cause he's not a frequent logging forum poster that the replies would start with polite " glad it worked out" and "that's one way to do it". I knew hammer's post was just a matter of time, but I will admit I was wrong on who I thought would make it. What absolutely did not surprise me at all was how Jake reacted. I have met him, and he is a class act, which he demonstrated here:clap:

Glad it worked out for Jake on that one. Now how bout some details on the bbq pit in his avatar. Thing looks sweet.

edited to add; at least I assume it's a bbq pit. If it's not, it should be.

Thanks Jon, and you're right... I don't post here, but I do spend most of my time here :msp_thumbsup:

Thanks snapple.. That's ole Buford, named after my Uncle Buford on my dad's side. He owned 51,000 acres (west of Fort Worth, Texas near Stephenville) which is now split up between all the cousins. We spent a lot of time there in the summer. Unfortunately, we only visit there now to bury family members.

Damn that's nice Jake! Those burgers look delicious. The ribs are spot on and is that a pork shoulder on the left? Good Lord. I'm speechless.

Ha! You're welcome! Don't forget to pull the membrane off the bone side, rub 'em down good and don't forget the brown sugar. Smoke bone side down at 250-275 until internal temp is 165 (2.5-3.5hrs).. Wrap em in foil until 180-185 internal temp (1-2hrs), open the foil and mop some bbq sauce, let it caramelize for another 30-45 while still sitting on the foil. Pull ribs and let them relax for 20 minutes.

I spritz them with an apple juice every 30-40 minutes. Try making your own bbq sauce too.
