So my question is why didn't you warn him since he is your friend????

MS290 with 20" b+c goes for $369.95 around here plus tax. My friend bought one and was all proud of himself, till I told him I would have sold him a barley used MS361 for the same total price. HARRY HOMEOWNER LEARNS A LESSON!
and boy was he pizzed when I told him it had the same clam shell design of the poulan he was replacing. He thought he was getting more of the pro style saw and the dealer didn't tell him any different, but it is the crap dealer I have always talked about, not the 2 good ones in the area.

and I will give you bit of credit with the design similarity,,, But thats as far as it goes,,,, the Orange and white saw is actually a much better product than the wildthings.....

Thought you guys would like to know how the story ended, and how it almost ended.

Did the repair yesterday as I explained. Went online to file the claim, which should have been easy since I had an authorization number already. Checked the claim status later and found a note that I had to provide them with the invoice number that I purchased the parts on. Called them up to explain what I had done and some snotbag told me that I had to order the parts or they wouldn't pay the claim. Said they couldn't pay me for parts I didn't order. I said I payed for the damn parts when I paid for the saw. He told me I would have to order the parts and use them to put the donor saw back together. "As what?" I asked. Are we gonna call that a new saw? What's the serial number going to be, cause the serial number on the case went to the customer. He wouldn't budge, so I just hung up before I blew up.

So, I called up again today all ready for round two. I got a different guy with a completely different attitude. He said "I don't care where you got the parts just as long as you get the customer up and running. If you want to strip one of your saws, that's fine" Approved the claim right there. Happy ending!
