That's great, Jeffers. It really is. Someday maybe you can show the rest of us heathens the world of high end marketing, and no residential advertising as well as the land of mystical rainbows and plentiful hitch pins that we all so lust after. Until then how bout you have a slurp or two offadeez...

Do you understand the importance of hitch pins?

When I started out, door to door flyers worked great. You can get 5.000 full color, double sided, card stock, U/V coated, 5.5x8.5 flyers for $227.50 delivered to your door from m13 graphics. If you design them right, you can use them for bulk mail too. Direct mail has been very effective for me. Don't overdue it and be consistent. Just be prepared for the amount of calls coming in. It can be overwhelming. Attached is my latest flyer. Learn photoshop, it's not hard.

You can build your own website too. I use a program called Sitespinner. It's so easy to use. I built and published my website, alextree.com, and I get mega calls. I think the website costs me about $10/month to keep running.

That's good to know. I've been toying with the direct mail thing. My post office quoted me .17 per piece. I'd love to be overwhelmed with calls at this point. Thanks man.

Time in will get you overwhelmed by calls Brendon...if you are good at you do and make the ho happy with the whole experience. Websites are just something you have to have like you used to (and still do) have to have an ad in the Yellow pages to show you are a legit tree service...though you don't need a big one like some ego s dictate.

Website and paying for Google standings per month and Angies List promotions are fairly good but often have you scattered all over Hell's creation. A guy on here, The Aerial Analist used to literally pay customers after the job to rave about him on Angie's List. Brought him lots of work but who knows where he is now with it. If you want Angie's list to give you a certain locale concentration you have to pay up big time.

IMO, the best procedure is to, as I have said a million times, go where the money is. Set down roots in an upper middle class town, have kids, get involved in everything you can stand...and be the best tree co. there ever was. You will not get the high end client without a CA and much more knowledge than that requires I can promise you tho.

Years ago I worked for Bartlett Tree and their system was to send out salesmen to make maybe 40 or 50 sales calls in a day and at least have 25 or so contacts before they go home to dinner. This again is only productive in the long run if you are the high level tree co. you said you were when you made contact and closed the dealio. But this way you choose the area you work in and are not trucking on hiways and in effect concentrate your business to a desirable area.

Doesn't hurt if you are sexy as hell and the wife can picture herself banging you (and the husband too believe it or not) and she likes to sneak a look now and then of you flexing your muscles around the tree either. Used to work for me and I won't elaborate but now I am old and it has to suffice that I am just real fkn good at what I do and they can hopefully live on memories of what a stud I used to be :)
