hinge type

i use either humbolt or common on pines or the gol face on aspens. i have developed a face i call packman. it is basicly the common but wider . i use it on hazard trees. it allows me to get the tree going the right way much safer and quicker.:chainsawguy:

oooookkkkk....

First down cut at a approx. 90-45 degree angle, 1/4 to 1/5 of the way in, then make the undercut level or you can saw it upwards slightly (I make my undercut and down cut meet exactly and level). Then backcut level with bottom of notch. :D :) :rockn:

Old big timber technique.
