I noticed at auctions the Amish like the old McCulloch chain saws, why?
Is it because they like a hard to start saw?

That’s interesting, my Husqvarna dealer was saying that the 3xx series Husqvarna that are still on the market were there still in part, because of the Amish market, apparently they can’t use the Autotune. It is interesting that they could sell and work on them.In this area there are Amish Stihl dealers.
Why wouldn't they be able to sell or work on them? That’s interesting, my Husqvarna dealer was saying that the 3xx series Husqvarna that are still on the market were there still in part, because of the Amish market, apparently they can’t use the Autotune. Much of what the Amish do confuses me, but it seems contradictory if you aren’t allowed to use something, why is it alright to sell it or work on it?Why wouldn't they be able to sell or work on them?
yep. With the Amish it all depends on what sect they are what or what not they can do.
Like most religions/religious followers, they pick and choose what they actually want to follow/believe. It's awfully convenient that way.Much of what the Amish do confuses me, but it seems contradictory if you aren’t allowed to use something, why is it alright to sell it or work on it?
I was buying whole animals from an amish butcher, he kind of vanished, but he rented his butcher shop, had refrigeration, vacuum sealing, printed labels… and a gasoline powered tablesawLike most religions/religious followers, they pick and choose what they actually want to follow/believe. Read a post from a guy who grew up next to an Amish family. He'd be plowing with his tractor on his parent's farm and would go visit the Amish boys next door for lunch. When he was driving across their land he'd drop the plow and plow his way there, have lunch, then plow his way back to his own farm. The Amish boys would be plowing with horses, and his one trip over and back with the tractor would save them half a day's work.yep.
worked on a crew framing a hotel in houghton lake about 25 years ago. there was an Amish framing crew we worked with. pulled up in an F350 4 door. 6 workers. all power tools involved in framing were ok to use. it was pretty nice working with them, too.
then there's the others I've seen in the gladwin area. harvesting old school with draft horses and all that. seeing the kids out there doin the work, I thought if I was one of them I'd be heading across the road to the farm using tractors and ask if they could adopt me.

You should see the ApostolicThe Mennonites here have nice vehicles and nicer toys, I don’t know where the funding comes from, but there’s a lot of it. The gals all have dresses and bonnets the men.. you never quite know, some
You wouldn’t pic out, others you double back looking for where they parked their horse.
id be inviting him over for dinner, too!!When he was driving across their land he'd drop the plow and plow his way there, have lunch, then plow his way back to his own farm.
