Just bought a quart of this from my local cycle shop to run in my 036. Figured I'd mix it 40:1 with 93 octane gas. Is this good oil? I hope so as it was $10/quart. Course, that will last me for a year, I reckon.

ALSO, if I run a richer mix (40to1 rather than 50to1) am I likely to need to readjust the high speed mixture? Wonder what effect this mix change will have on WOT speed before I adjust the carb?

Amsoil tends to make ok stuff. Nothing special though. Why dont you run it and let us know how it works?
As for the carb changes. Yes in theory you mixture will be slightly leaner, but in oractice I doubt you will have to change it much. If you do it will be slight.

we ran amsoil in the early 80s i think all syn. oil was new or just new to me. It was 100 to 1 mix. Ran great. But we did have some crankshaht seals getting hard.

Hey Slow if its 2000 racing oil, works excellent at 50to1, good stuff.

Amsoil

Yes, that is what it is. I mixed it 40:1. They also had Lubrication Engineers brand that was the same price. Funny, it is cheaper for me to buy a quart of this stuff than to get the handy pack of 2.5 ounce Stihl bottles. I have to believe it is better oil.
