With some time on a grinder, you might be able to save the chain.

The chain looks like it was sharpened from above using a flat file - or just run on a flat concrete surface for sharpening... not worth trying IMHO. The way the bar looks the drive links probably wobble hopelessly in the groove.

It is not easy to kill a new saw by over-revving the engine. Sawing dry and/or sandy stuff with a chain that doesn't cut will do trick, though.
